for those of you who are interested, rainbows are the same here, not upside down, saw one today ;) and I watched the water go down the drain clockwise. Toilets flush differently here with a sort of whoosh rather than a swirl so can't really tell which direction it goes. Not quite a science experiment...maybe I'll go get some food coloring and do a best of five drainings of the sink...

i also learned how to identify the direction "South" using the stars: you take the intersection of line drawn from the biscetof Alpha and Beta Centari and a line drawn from the long axis of the Southern Cross.
Its kind of weird to have Scorpio and Sagitarius directly overhead: we are pretty much on the Tropic of Capricorn so zenith (directly overhead) is the plane of the ecliptic. cool.
