First Few Days

By popular demand I am writing a little blog to let my friends home know what I am doing here in Europe. It has been a bit crazy, but here is it:

I arrived early Monday morning and got to Joe's without much difficulty. My only issue was that my large bag got caught in between the metro gate and it was rush hour and so people were upset that I was holding them up.

Joe and I walked around Monday and focused on keeping me out until at least 11pm so that I could get over jet lag, unfortunately that went out the window Tuesday night but I'll get to that in a moment. JOe lives near an are called Montmarte and we went there for a glass of wine. There is a large windmill there and a few tourists but generally a quiet area. The we went into the center of town and walked around in the rain. We ended up having cous cous for dinner which was nice because it was simple and the jet lag was starting to make me a bit queasy. The restaurant had a very friendly tom cat that slept on the floor at my feet throughout dinner. I suppose that the ovens were downstairs because the floor was very warm and the cat was very happy. Judging by the size of the cat, he probably got quite a few scraps from customers and I was happy to contribute the skin from my chicken. But it made me miss Sassy...hopefully she won't be too mad at me when I come home.
